Social Orientation Assessment Test - Symptoms and Signs
This measure is used to support brief screening of a student’s social orientation as reflected in observable interactions and relationships. The Social Orientation Assessment is typically completed by an adult informant (e.g., a teacher) who knows the student well and can rate everyday social behavior. It contains 20 items and generally requires about 4 minutes to complete.
Developed by F. H. Allport, the Social Orientation Assessment is intended to highlight patterns of social behavior that may warrant closer attention and to guide follow-up within a broader, multi-method evaluation. Results should be interpreted in context (e.g., setting demands, developmental level, and cultural expectations) and are not sufficient on their own for diagnosis or placement decisions.
