CLEAR ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this questionnaire measure?
It measures the relative importance of four value drivers used in everyday decisions: teamwork, individuality, personal achievement, and tradition. Results show which drivers are prioritized and which are less central.
How should items be answered?
Each situation should be rated based on what would most likely guide behavior in that context. Responses should reflect typical patterns rather than an ideal choice.
How long does it take to complete and how many items are included?
Completion time is approximately 10 minutes. The questionnaire includes 10 items.
How are results presented?
Scores are summarized as a ranked profile across the four value areas. Higher rankings indicate stronger influence on decisions in the assessed situations.
What is an appropriate use of the results?
Results can support discussion of communication and decision-making preferences in training, coaching, or team settings. They are not intended for diagnosis or for evaluating mental health.
WHAT THE TEST MEASURES
About This Assessment
Cultural Dimensions Test

Cultural Dimensions Test - Symptoms and Signs

This brief self-report measure assesses value-based orientations that may influence decision-making across common interpersonal and achievement contexts. Cultural Dimensions is intended to clarify the relative salience of core cultural value patterns within the individual.

The respondent rates a set of everyday situations to indicate preferences related to cooperation and mutual support, distinctiveness and individuality, personal achievement, and tradition or adherence to established norms. It includes 10 items and typically requires about 10 minutes to complete.

Scoring yields a profile reflecting the respondent’s relative prioritization of these value orientations at the time of assessment, which may be useful for describing cultural style in applied settings and for informing discussion of interpersonal or team dynamics. Cultural Dimensions is commonly referenced in relation to the framework described by Wigboldus and Triandis.
