WHAT THE TEST MEASURES
About This Assessment
Assessment of Adaptability Test

Adaptability Assessment Test

This self-report measure is designed to examine how an individual responds to change and adjusts to novel or shifting circumstances. The Adaptability Assessment provides a brief snapshot of perceived adaptive functioning and related emotional responses in everyday contexts. It consists of 25 items and typically takes about 5 minutes to complete.

Items ask respondents to endorse statements reflecting common reactions to transitions, uncertainty, and situational demands. Scores from the Adaptability Assessment may be used as a screening indicator of adjustment-related strengths and areas of difficulty, and should be interpreted within the broader context of clinical interview, history, and other assessment data. When cited, authorship is attributed to John D. Mayer and Peter Salovey.
