This instrument is used to evaluate how an individual combines information and social cues to guide behavior in interpersonal contexts. The Social Development of Combinatorial Abilities of Personality is administered as a brief self-report measure intended to capture flexibility in integrating cognitive, communicative, and creative resources during social interaction.
The measure contains 50 items and typically requires about 10 minutes to complete. Responses are used to summarize patterns relevant to adaptive social problem-solving and the generation of novel, workable approaches in communication.
In clinical or applied settings, results from the Social Development of Combinatorial Abilities of Personality may be considered alongside interview data and other measures to inform case formulation, feedback, and goal setting. It is attributed to J. P. Guilford.
