This measure is designed to characterize individual differences in preferred thinking strategies and orientation toward stability versus change. The Mentality Type Assessment uses a brief self-report format to support an initial understanding of how a person tends to perceive and interpret their environment.
It consists of 31 items and typically takes about 6 minutes to complete. Item responses are used to classify the respondent into one of several mentality profiles (e.g., traditional, innovative, transitional, post-innovative) based on relative endorsement patterns.
The Mentality Type Assessment may be used as an adjunct in coaching, organizational, or educational settings to inform communication style and planning, and results should be interpreted in context alongside other clinical or occupational information. The authorship is sometimes attributed to Carl G. Jung.
