Obsessive–compulsive symptoms can be difficult to identify on initial presentation, particularly when overlapping with other anxiety-related concerns. The Maudsley Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory (MOCI) is a brief self-report measure designed to screen for common obsessive and compulsive symptom features.
Developed by Stanley Rachman and Ray Hodgson, it consists of 30 items and typically requires about 6 minutes to complete. Responses are used to estimate the presence and relative prominence of obsessive–compulsive symptom patterns and may support clinical hypothesis generation.
The Maudsley Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory (MOCI) is intended to complement, not replace, a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation; results should be interpreted in the context of clinical interview, symptom history, functional impairment, and relevant differential considerations.
