This self-report measure is designed to screen for tendencies toward internalized anger and related emotional tension. The Internal Aggression Test is typically used to support discussion of how often anger is experienced, how strongly it is felt, and how it may affect day-to-day internal state.
The instrument contains 40 items and generally takes about 8 minutes to complete. Items are presented as brief statements rated by the respondent, yielding an estimate of the intensity and frequency of inwardly directed anger and its perceived impact. The Internal Aggression Test was described by Dayhoff, Signe, and results should be interpreted as preliminary and considered alongside clinical interview, relevant history, and other assessment data.
