This brief self-report measure is used to characterize coping responses associated with infertility-related stress. The Infertility Coping Scale provides a structured way to identify the coping strategies a respondent tends to rely on in this context (Dunkel-Schetter & Carver). It consists of 9 items and typically takes about 2 minutes to complete.
Results may help clinicians and other health professionals describe patterns such as problem-focused efforts, support seeking, acceptance, or avoidance, and use this information to guide supportive counseling and treatment planning. The Infertility Coping Scale is intended to complement, not replace, clinical evaluation and should be interpreted in light of the individual’s circumstances and current treatment context.
