This self-report measure is designed to assess individual differences in introversion-related preferences and typical patterns of social engagement and stimulation. The Self-Rated Introversion Scale asks respondents to rate everyday tendencies that may reflect where they fall along the introversion–extraversion continuum.
The instrument consists of 30 items and typically takes about 6 minutes to complete. Items focus on common behavioral and experiential domains (e.g., preference for solitude versus social activity, comfort with stimulation, and perceived energy restoration), and responses are intended to support a brief, structured summary of self-perceived introversion.
The Self-Rated Introversion Scale can be used as an initial screening tool in clinical, counseling, coaching, or educational contexts to guide discussion of interpersonal style, environmental fit, and coping strategies. Results are best interpreted in conjunction with clinical interview, relevant history, and other assessment data, and should not be treated as a standalone diagnostic indicator.
