Assessment of reflective self-focus and the tendency to monitor and evaluate one’s thoughts, feelings, and actions can inform clinical formulation and related applied decisions. The Reflectiveness Questionnaire is a brief self-report measure intended to estimate typical levels of self-observation and reflective processing. It contains 33 items and typically requires about 7 minutes to complete.
Items are designed to capture individual differences in engagement with internal dialogue and appraisal of one’s own motives and experiences. Results from the Reflectiveness Questionnaire may be used as a descriptive indicator of reflective tendencies to support case conceptualization, counseling or coaching goals, or research applications, with interpretation integrated with other clinical information.
