People and Plants Test - Symptoms and Signs
This measure assesses individual attitudes and perceived connection to plants and natural environments. The People and Plants Test is intended to support a brief characterization of how a person notices, values, and responds to plant-related stimuli in everyday life.
It is a self-report questionnaire with 32 items and takes about 6 minutes to complete. Items are typically answered in a straightforward format and can be incorporated into broader psychological or psychoeducational assessment as clinically appropriate.
Developed by Rachel Kaplan and Stephen Kaplan, the People and Plants Test may be used to inform case formulation and discussion of environmental preferences, restorative experiences, and nature-related values, without serving as a standalone diagnostic instrument.
