This measure is intended to support structured self-report of how individuals perceive a spiritually oriented crisis or period of existential distress. The Spiritual Crisis Self-Perception Assessment organizes responses around perceived impact across temporal frames (past, present, and anticipated future) and may be used to inform clinical discussion and case formulation. It was described by Stanislav Grof and Christina Grof.
The instrument includes 60 items and typically takes about 11 minutes to complete. Results from the Spiritual Crisis Self-Perception Assessment should be interpreted in context (e.g., presenting concerns, cultural and religious background, and concurrent symptoms) and used as one component of a broader assessment rather than as a standalone diagnostic tool.
