The measure is intended to support a structured appraisal of self-concept across everyday contexts; the Frankfurt Self-Concept Scales (FSKN) is administered as a self-report questionnaire to characterize how an individual perceives their functioning, emotions, and behavior in situations involving demands, achievement, and interpersonal contact.
It consists of 78 items and typically takes about 15 minutes to complete. Results are commonly used to inform clinical formulation and goal setting by identifying perceived strengths and areas of vulnerability, including perceived efficacy, confidence in decision-making and behavior, sensitivity to others’ opinions, and satisfaction with social interactions. Scores from the Frankfurt Self-Concept Scales (FSKN) should be interpreted within the broader assessment context and are not, by themselves, diagnostic.
