Child Acculturative Stress Inventory (ASIC) Test - Symptoms and Signs
This brief self-report tool is used to screen for acculturative stress and related adjustment difficulties in children adapting to a new cultural environment. The Child Acculturative Stress Inventory (ASIC) supports early identification of stressors that may warrant follow-up in clinical, school, or community settings.
The measure includes 12 items and typically takes about 3 minutes to complete. Items ask about the frequency of common acculturation-related experiences (e.g., perceived discrimination or misunderstanding, social communication challenges, language-related difficulties, and reduced mood or energy). Results are generally interpreted as an indicator of current stress burden and can help guide supportive planning; the Child Acculturative Stress Inventory (ASIC) is not intended to serve as a standalone diagnostic instrument.
