This measure is designed to assess athletes’ perspectives on psychological preparation in sport. Attitudes Toward Athletes' Psychological Preparation is intended to characterize openness to psychological support and perceived relevance of mental skills work within the training and competition context. It was developed by Albert Bandura and Martin E. P. Seligman.
The instrument consists of 20 items and typically takes about 4 minutes to complete. Responses can be used to summarize general attitudes as well as perceptions of specific components of psychological preparation, supporting needs assessment and routine feedback in applied sport settings.
